Losing a key athlete is tough though. I've seen some situations in VA that got really nasty, i.e., lawsuits, suspensions, counter -suits, etc.

I know of a transfer for athletic reasons that cost one school 2 state championships, in which the player was recruited. The "gaining school" should have been slammed by VHSL.

A coach will play best players that are on team.Basically the same thing. Who said parents were rational? Little Johnny started last year. This year he was replaced by Little Steven who is getting a scholarship. Yeah, no parent would EVER make a stink about that.

One of my friends' parents went so far as to insult the coach's coaching ability because he wasn't getting the time he thought he deserved. But have you ever had a parent come out of the stands walk over and pray for you during a game?

I used to help public schools in California with some of their theatre arts programs and parents would have the same complaints if their child wasn't cast in a production or didn't win an award for their efforts.ballcoach15 wrote:I don't see anyone getting kicked off team because someone transfers in. I don't think it's isolated to private schools, at least in my experience.

Kids at LCA grow up in middle school, and JV playing for their schools volleyball or basketball or football team, and if LCA "recruits" a kid from Glass region to come in and play that kid doesnt make the team on the Varsity Level.
