Ginboili and Parker were good players in 03-04, were they at the level they have been this year or last year? No, but they were pretty good back then. Pakrer averaged 14.7 points and 5.5 assists a game that year (career average is 16.7 and 5.6) and Ginobili was 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists (career average is 14.7, 4.1, and 3.6). Neither one were that far off their career averages, so to say they weren't that good is simply silly.

And Howard/Lewis is almost on par with Shaq/Wade at that point in Wade's career.
ok so jordan rodman

or jordan kerr
jordan grant

jordan had other stars around him.
and i said Lewis could possibly be the star so i take back what i said.

also pippen was a great player, good enough of a player to draw a little attention by defenders which freed up jordan from a triple team, that is the kind of number two player that is needed to win a championship, a player that can draw a little attention away from the superstar, and if left one on one can drop 20+ against his opponent.
Again--not anyone close to "stars"
Put down NBA Jam and do some research.

Steve Kerr was a flat out winner. I'd take him every day of the week over some star that can't win.

I don't doubt Kerr played a part in the Bulls run...but he's nowhere close to a star. His career average is 6ppg and goes to even 4ppg in the playoffs. However, in this argument using Kerr, Horace Grant or even to a lesser extent, Rodman--they aren't stars.

uh yeah pippen was a superstar....

his #'s would put him in the top 5 small forward in the league over the past few years...

the one thing people don't realize about those bulls teams are how terrible the rest of the team really was...

i put rodman up there as at least a star, granted he may have been groping a guy but he still got the rebound, in points he lacked but he could out rebound anyone, and thank you someone agrees with me that Pippen is a star. Pippen was at least an all around player who could play defense better then 4 of 5 of the all defensive team of the past couple years.

Pippen was a star b/c Jordans star was so bright it shined on others as well...same goes for Rodman. Pippen was a good player but wouldnt sniff top 200 in the NBA without Jordan let alone top 50

you know not what you speak off...pippen was outshined by jordan. he just didn't get as many shots...and even then he was still the one of the best small forwards in the game...

as much as he gained from having jordan around, he also lost from having him around...

So how did he do without MJ? I remember him asking for him to come back

I get it they were the Houston Rockets...lucky to find their way out of the first round then bounced in the 2nd...so Pippen is a T-Mac...great player just needs a lot more to win a championship

Youre a Jordan hater

and tmac would be considered a star right? i would actually change it and say tmac is a wussified pippen.

i'm actually the biggest jordan fan in here i bet... but he still needed another star to win it all...

The conversation was about including Kerr as a sidekick "star" to Jordan. My response was more to the Th3rd, than you.

Scottie Pippen was officially named one of the 50 great NBA players. I think that pretty much settles how good he was right there since the selection committee, back in 1996, was "a blue-ribbon panel of media, former players and coaches, current and former general managers and team executives."

What a dirty move by Dwight Howard throwing that elbow at Wally - if it had connected it probably would have been another suspension.

I don't care either way, but I'd take him on my team. That was a dirty move and a blatant travel right in front of the ref rather I dislike him or not

Funny you find the handful of things the Magic don't get called for. LeBron travels every time he drives, and I have no idea what "elbow" you're talking about... but Wally's girl slap on Dwight was cute.

Clear Path foul? Rafer was in front of him.

But whatever, that's just how the refs are calling this series. The Magic are the better team.
