Instead, it should be East Campus, North Campus, Main Campus.

did you hear the reasoning behind the current names? apparently, we had an East Campus that referred to the island before it flooded. they thought it would confuse some people now if they used the same name.

no, this is just what duke fans want to convince people. That they're not liked because of "jealousy". But that's not the case at all. Their high winning percentage just throws fuel on the fire. duke fans can just brush it off, "oh it's because they're jealous." I don't think UCLA, Kentucky, or Kansas fans would trade what they've got for what duke's got, but they hate duke just as well.

And as far as campus names, those of us who live/lived across the highway have always referred it as East Campus.

Having lived pretty darn close to both schools i think people hate duke because:

1. there are a ton of northerners there SUNJ-DURHAM
2. people hate coach K because of the perceived favortism he gets from the officials
3. vitale's love for duke
4. the "so called punk players" like wojo, chris collins, laettner, redick. yeah all these guys are white, but i don't know what the deal is. these guys played hard and talked junk at times, but doesn't most of the good players do that these days??

bottom line is duke has been very successful since K has been in durham and it is easy to hate on winners. i have heard so many rip K because of his cussing during games and indeed his mouth is filthy, but the guy can coach. anytime something bad happens invloving duke basketball people revel in it.

This was totally the reason for the original and more localized version of The Duke Hatefest. Too many rich kids from New Jersey in the middle of tobacco country just does not go over well, and especially not with the center of all things North Carolina being 15 miles to the south.

A UCONN fan...labeling DUKE as a bandwagon team...check your NCAA basketball history...UCONN was totally off the map until calhoun arrived. Duke was playing in final fours before coach K arrived and is among the top five winningest programs of all-time.

Frankly I don't care for Duke OR Carolina...Im more a UVA guy (I just hope GMTM won't have my job for that)
