We all know RD is gone, but many other MBB coaches are losing their jobs this time of year, also. One of the latest is Marshall's Ron Jirsha. Here's what their AD had to say. 'Sound familiar?
His record at Marshall was ugly (43-74), but he is a former SEC coach at Georgia.
"When you look at the four years you have to be on the plus side," Marcum said. "I think Coach Jirsa did a lot of good things, but at the same time, these decisions are very, very difficult...I don't know anything that assists marketing more than a few more wins," Marcum said. "It's been a long time since our student body has experienced any kind of postseason play, but that certainly was not the overriding factor. Most people come out to watch you win. I don't think they come out to watch you play."http://www.marshallparthenon.com/media/ ... key=825018
