From Shorter University

Kim Graham has been named the new director of athletics at Shorter University. He will begin his duties at Shorter on June 1.
“Kim Graham emerged from a pool of well-qualified applicants as the ideal person to lead Shorter’s stellar program of intercollegiate athletics,” said Shorter University President Dr. Don Dowless. “The Milan, Ohio, native has more than two and a half decades of administrative experience at the Division I level and has taken part in six NCAA peer reviews, preparing him well for this new role at Shorter. Of equal importance, he has led athletic programs at institutions that share our Christ-centered mission and understands the importance of our work in transforming lives through Christ.”

Back in the day, Kim Graham, SCAR, Rick Reeves, and I were on the same church basketball team. Congratulations to Kim and his family on their move to Rome, GA.

Kim has been at Campbell the past several years so I have been able to talk to him a couple of times a year at the Big South Tournament and games at Campbell. He is a good guy. I wish him well!

Cider, I remember that church league team! Paul Nazigian was on there with us too. Remember how we lost the championship? Former Liberty Great Greg McCauley went for 50 plus on us! It was him and 4 fat guys and they won. Remember we also had a 6-6 guy named Buck, Naz and I were still in our 20's and very good players but Greg lit us all up. If I'm gonna get lit up by a guy on the court, I'm happy it was the guy that signal handedly was responsible for me getting a full scholarship at Liberty!

SCAR, I just remember that having Reeves at the point (with a heavy knee brace) and you as the 2-guard was like having two coaches in the backcourt. And I was the backup small forward subbing for Kim, whenever he got winded, which was often.
:oldhag
McCauley lit us up in the championship game. As good as we were, you couldn't contain Greg on defense: yea, full scholarship, and he married a movie star who had been in the original Friday the 13th.

Yeah the McCauley's are family to me....Do you remember before one game, someone did the books and put Rick in the Starting lineup even though the Lady Flames were in the Big South Tournament down in Roanoke. We were all confident that he would be back in time for the game after a 1st round elimination. That was the last time that team was ever bad. The next season the Wilkerson Twins and Elena Kisseleva enrolled and the rest is history.
