Not at all. It was the details you gave that caught me off guard. Some things are better left unsaid.

I really dont get what was so shocking...I played soccer for four years, had to quit my freshman year of high school and made history with who replaced me...anything else that you may have thought is a you problem

i'm sure the coaches knowing that they could get the same output at your roster spot with a woman really sent a ripple down fabric of soccer tradition. a tradition apparently 4 years old.

soccer tradition no...was it unprecedented at the school...certainly. I don't know if they could get just as much out of a girl at that point in the season. I'd have to talk to her since we were in the same class all through high school but either way, youre all missing the point as usual...

I was just shocked that you were playing varsity soccer as a 6th grader which typically indicates you were quite skilled. The fact that you were later replaced by a female leads me to believe otherwise. I was also a little surprised that you admitted to withdrawing from the team due to grades. These are things I would have kept quiet. I wasn't trying to be insulting, I was just a bit shocked by the revelations. Maybe it is a "me" problem.

We had a first year varsity program at that point so we had 6th graders, 7th graders 8th graders all the way up to seniors because for the first few years we didnt have enough high schoolers with soccer experience to field a full varsity team. I stayed on because I was at least a decent defender until my grades took a dive and I had to quit.

As for the revealing issues with grades, im pretty honest about my shortcomings in school so I really don't have anything to hide...im not all together in my past and so I see no reason for it to be some big secret

I played a girl in high school tennis against BJ's high school. It wasn't uncommon for that school to have females on predominantly varsity boys teams.

They fell on pretty hard times after I graduated. The coach (and my principal while I was there) ended up taking a job at another school and the swimming and tennis programs went with him. The softball and baseball teams were suspended a few years ago as well. It doesnt shock me that you had basically co-ed programs for tennis by the time you came through high school and played them ATrain
