The Big South Conference announced today that it has reprimanded Coastal Carolina football student-athlete Jerome Simpson for a violation of the League’s Ethical Conduct Policy... That's about all we have been told

The Coastal people were saying none of that actually happened. Any chance he doesn't play Saturday?

I called Randy earlier and he said that the reprimand was just that. They wanted to publicly say he did something wrong but no punishment for it.

OK< I know I am just being nosey. But what did Jerome do to those Chuck South people? I caught a little of the game replay on one of the FSN regional channels last night. But I didn't see anything.

CSU is saying that after the game, Simpson was yelling obscenities loudly toward the CSU players in the handshake line and at the CSU fans in the stands. Simpson was apparently at the receiving end of some pretty harsh trash-talk during the game, but I'm guessing the league took exception to him saying those things to the fans and after the game was over (but that's just my guess).

Simpson gets slap on the wrist

Jerome Simpson's actions after Saturday's game were enough to warrant a public reprimand from the Big South office. Simpson, a junior receiver, will not miss any game time due to this action.
After Coastal Carolina's 31-17 victory over Charleston Southern, Simpson was accused of running to the CSU sideline and yelling obscenities. Simpson denied the accusations to The Sun News following the game, but the conference office decided there was credence for the reprimand.
Big South Conference commissioner Kyle Kallander said Wednesday that he could couldn't get into too many specifics, but he did say the reprimand was directly tied to post-game actions. He also said the league did an "extensive" review of the situation, including reviewing tape of the game and conducting interviews to determine the validity of the initial claim.
Kallander said this instance didn't warrant a suspension, but he did say Coastal Carolina and Simpson would receive a letter regarding the situation.
Simpson and his Chanticleer teammates will be playing Appalachian State in the first round of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
