Two points. I think SJ is basically correct, except dwelling on impure thoughts is sin. I think it's Matthew 5:27 where Jesus said, if you look at a woman lustfully you have committed adultery in your heart." So in oyher words it's not a sin to have the thought...but it can become a sin to dwell on the thought...
And I think we all struggle with our thoughtlife in different areas...whether it's spending too much time thinking about eating, smoking, sex, money, power, etc. We all have idols.
The second thing I have to say is ESPN released a statement. "We regret that a respectful discussion of personal viewpoints became a distraction to today's news. ESPN is fully committed to diversity and welcome's Jason Collin's announcement".
ESPN should have stopped after the first sentence. They could have just said, "We are sorry that a discussion of a player's personal sexual preferences and others' viewpoints about them became a distraction from our sports news".
Or is ESPN going to make stories out of everyone's sexual lives? I can see it now...player soandso said he is in committed relationships with two women at the same time. How many closet Polagamists are in the NBA...are there any other's in the other professional leagues?
