... reportedly is UT-Arlington. Seriously. Allegedly their board of directors votes on their invitation on Thursday. The Mavs haven't had football is awhile but still have a stadium that needs upgraded. Supposedly they intend to start up football once again as part of the deal to join the league. The WAC apparently bypassed Lamar to pick UTA despite Lamar already having started back up their football program and upgraded their stadium. The Cardinals could get an invitation next summer.

The big rumor on the WAC boards is that Montana & Montana State have given silent commitment to join the WAC but won't announce until after the season so they can stay eligible for the 2011 playoffs.

Looks like the Southland and Big Sky may both need new members soon. Any chance the Big Sky raids the MVFC and takes some combination of the Dakotas and the Dakota States?

I think the Big Sky has already offered to UND (and NDSU and SDSU are already in the MVFC) and I believe USD is destined for the Big Sky as well
