If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

While I think Texas could compete with the top of the PAC-10 (they beat USC even though USC was breaking the rules), Alabama has proven they would not be in the top of the SEC. However, the realignment was all about money and television sets, and the ego of Texans about the UT in their state makes that UT so tantalizing.

I would say this is a well written piece for a "Texas hater" that took his first crack at writing a blog, but I'm giving Mr. Travis too much credit.

.....and I'm no fan of the Longhorns.

In the words of Ozzie Guillen, "Pfffffft, Please."

Perhaps the lamest blast at UT I have seen yet ... and there are plenty of them coming from the Aggy faithful right now.

Where do I begin? What "truth" are you referencing?

Texas would be the dominant program if they had gone to the Pac-10. I can't possibly fathom how choosing not to head west is cowardly.

They would have stood right beside Alabama, Florida & LSU as the dominant programs in the SEC. Then again, they would have been tied academically to schools they have no business being associated with and they would have had to turn their back on traditional in-state rivals to make the move. What the article refers to as cowardice is simply common sense.

What takes chutzpah is holding the fate of the college football landscape in your hands and not caving to outside pressures to jump ship. Manning up and going against the flow because it is in the best interest of your school, alumni & fans is the type of action that should be honored. Then again, I can fully understand the jealousy in overdrive for some others in the college football world.

Sly....come on. Ive been to a few games these past two seasons and I loved that whole UT spirit thing but there is no way I am drinking that Koolaide. Everyone knows UT is scared to play regular season games against the Big Boys...

They arent sacred of the Pac-10....why would they be....why would they want to go to a conference where all the top teams would love to leave if they had some where to go

I am trying to figure out what I stated that would imply I'm drunk on Koolaid. Would UT have likely been the dominant program once they entered the Pac-10 ... especially in light of USC's issues? Would UT have been alongside Florida, Alabama & LSU in the SEC? I guess my burnt orange glasses must be on that I can't see how these are outrageous claims.

I really dont like Texas or that hook'em crap but still dont see how the Pac-10 wouldnt be a 2 team race year after year (on a consistent basis not a fluke year here and there) if Texas was to go there.

To me, they are the USC of their conference and going to the Pac-10 would simply be a step over and not a step up.

I agree with you. If the 5 teams from the Big 12 had gone to the Pac 10, it would have been a toss up every year between Texas and Oklahoma ;).

There is not a single football program in the country that can stay on top year after year. Every program has experienced difficult seasons over the last 20 years. From a conference perspective, each major conference has had multiple winners in the last 10 years.

I don't really need to read the rest of this when you start by quoting Ozzie "I'm a complete and total idiot" Guillen.
