Not only is it huge, it's in between 2 division rivals. That almost never happens. I just can't believe it.

I've spent the past 10 years hating his guts. I don't know if I can root for him now. Some rumblings that this trade was made to send McNabb to St. Louis so the 'Skins could try to move up to take Sam Bradford.

Yeah, I don't think QB was the problem. I wonder what happens to Campbell? Can they make a deal with the Bills?

They aren't going to get much more than a 4th for him. At this point, I'd take any round if I'm Bruce Allen.

I wonder if this means that Michael Vick will be in a dog fight for the starting QB position in Philly?

As a Skins fan, I am really happy about getting McNabb. I'm also shocked that Philly would trade him within the division.

1. not gonna happen. Arrington was on First Take this AM saying Donovan will be fine when he develops into a pocket passer. HAH. 11 yrs and counting on that. His mechanics are horrible, which is why a 7 yard throw into the flat goes nose first into the ground most of the time. His greatest strength was his ability to scramble- injuries and age have limited that to a point where he has become mediocre at best. Accuracy has NEVER been his strong suit.

An interesting graphic this AM showed the Redskins QB's as a group had comparable numbers, and a BETTER completion %, than Donovan did last season.

2. agree

3. Giants will still suck

no. this job has been KK's since the end of the season- no matter what Jeff Lurie/fatty Reid have been saying.

I just hope SLY was right about the kid. He looked good for 3 games last year- but no one knew anything about him then. A year of film on him may be all NFL D-Coordinators need. We'll see.

The whole sending McNabb to the Rams for their pick has already been denied.

Jason Campbell from what I heard still has not signed his tendered contract. Any way you look at it, the Redskins got a huge upgrade at QB, Campbell was a problem. Sure, he could get the basic job done, but he was not a playmaker or a leader.

The Redskins biggest problem since Gibbs/take2 has been scoring, and I don't think the Eagles fans realize how good they've had it on offense. They scored lots of points. This is what Washington needs.

This also gives the Redskins more options in the draft in terms of possibly trading their pick.

I think their only option in this draft at QB was going to be Bradford, and with the Rams looking more and more like they'll take Bradford, the Redskins took the short-term solution by getting the veteran star QB. Now we can see what will be available in the next couple years as far as drafting a quarterback.

McNabb is going to go through withdrawal in DC after having the weapons he had to work with last year. Santana Moss is no DeSean Jackson.

There is just no way you can know how good Campbell was. You could say he sucked, and it's hard to dispute because he's got the numbers to back it up. But he has no offensive line to protect him and correct me if I'm wrong, has had a different OC and a different offensive system EVERY single year he's been in the league. Not really an affective use of ANY QB. But I guess it doesn't matter anymore. At least for the redskins.

It's almost a foregone conclusion the Skins will go OL with their #1. Probably the tackle from OK State Okun. That and a solid free agent or 2 could stabilize their O-line.

Yes, the Redskins o-line has been terrible, but I think it was actually better at pass protection than it was at run-blocking. Campbell was rushed a lot for sure, but he was also slow in making decisions. Look how much Aaron Rodgers got hit last year, but was still able to make plays and put points on the board. Campbell just couldn't manage to do that. It was hard to evaluate last year because the play-calling sharade didn't make any sense, but just watching the guy play it was very obvious Jason Campbell wasn't going to lead this team into the playoffs.

The whole "he's had a different OC every year of his career" was getting to be a tired excuse, pretty much being used just to give the guy a break, I guess. The Redskins have a ton of problems, but quarterback was the biggest.

I wonder if it's really true that they offered Haynesworth and Carlos Rodgers. That's what is being reported, but I have a hard time believing it.

I don't get how that excuse gets "tired" when they kept getting a new system every single year. Why can you not use the same excuse over along period of time if it remains true? I don't think there's a QB in the league who could put up with that, unless it's Manning who will just call his own plays anyway.

Throw in Zorn and you have one mixed up quarterback.

Coordinators come and go, systems change, even quarterbacks change. So what? You have an entire offseason to learn it, and get paid millions to do it. Even if you kept the players/coaches the same, you don't think the playbook changes at all year to year? You're in the NFL, it's a big-boy league.

good qb's deal with that. and his line was top half of the league in 07/08. last year they weren't very good but he also had his best year statistically. he's just bland. he's had a good wr and a good te to throw to but not much else but there has never ever been a "he could have it" moment with him.

So supposedly McNabb is lobbying the Redskins to pick up Terrell Owens. This is just too much like fantasy football for me...I know I should probably take the guy, but I really don't want to.

If that happens...the Eagles/Redskins rivalry will get that much deeper. Philly hates TO.

Supposedly its on tape for Pros vs. Joes...something to the effect of " wouldn't it be cool if we played on the same team again". If by not true he means he was joking, thats fine, but i hope he isn't saying i never said anything like that....

He may have said in passing that it might be "cool" to play on the same team but McNabb has said he isn't lobbying for the 'Skins to make a run at TO. Two completely different things.
