That's just a bunch of romanticism. There is an amount of money that is worth his kids seeing their father without a college degree. It's the same amount that allows you to play a sport for a living and live more than comfortably doing so. Degrees are so overrated. Is a plumber a worse example as a father than Bernie Madoff?
He "started" college as a means to get to the NFL. The NFL is his means to making more money in a couple years than most people see in their lifetime. I don't see how a degree affects any of that nor do I see how it makes him a better father. Unless he's majoring in a discipline that literally helps him be a father.
