If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Am I way off base here or (assuming WU wins) is this a a 1 vs. 64 match up that could potentially be something other than a 30-40 point blow-out??

I mean...as Much as I harass and hate on Winthrop I also feel that Duke is usually consistently over-rated and while I in no way am expecting WU to win -- I certainly could see them being in this game for a while, and possibly keeping it decently close. As much as I hate to admit it. Winthrop isn't all that good -- but you can't tell me they wouldn't beat a good dozen other teams if not more that got in.

Actually, if you think about it.... this was a very good thing for the BSC. We now have 1 team in the dance, and 1 team in the NIT. That would NOT have happened if CCU beats WU. If CCU would have beat WU, maybe they get a 15 seed, probably still a 16 though, and still get blown out in the first round, with no other representatives in any other tournaments.

Actually think the NIT has a deal with the Big South to get our second place team every year.

I don't mind this game (Play in game). You get a Nationally Televised game where a lot of people will watch... I will take that any day of the week, unless I know we had a great team that could advance past the first round game. Winthrop will beat PB and the Duke game is a great match up for them. They don't play big at all and Winthrop defends the 3 really well. Better match up then any of the other 1's or 2's in my opinion...

How funny is that Curry will have to sit on the bench and watch a Big South School play his team? Maybe next year we can meet them first round;)

No, if a team wins their regular season conference championship, lose in their conference tournament, and don't get selected as an at-large for the NCAAs that team gets an auto bid to the NIT. That goes for any conference, not just the Big South.

Thats the WNIT, which will take the highest ranked conference team not playing in the NCAA.
