for the record i am an fsu fan....and i think they have a good team, and i think they have just as good of a chance as those two teams playing in the big game this weekend....i think most, if not all of the teams in the top 10 have a chance to make it to the national championship game....even after the game on saturday between Texas and OSU there won't be a clear cut favoirte to win the national championship

They probably have a better chance than Texas or Ohio State because they have a joke of a scheudle in front of them playing in the ACC. Unfortunately scheduling has as much to do with national championships these days as quality of team.

yes maybe....but do you really think Texas or OSU are that far and ahead of FSU or any of the other teams currently in the top 10?? I just can't see that....and yes FSU has an easy schedule...its true

I know Ohio State has a MUCH better offense and I suspect Texas does as well.

Offense fills the stadiums, defense wins championships. I guess if FSU played some 1-AA as an opener there would have been no discussion about their offense not being up to par. With that being said if OSU defense doesnt jell soon, even with their offense they may not be in contention for national championship.

The only two tough games left for FSU is clemson and florida. whats up with FSU scheduling RICE and one of the directional schools in michigan this year.

UCLA @ Rose Bowl
Texas @ Reliant Stadium
Florida State @ Tallahassee

But its how they keep their football program afloat. But its tough for the new coaching staff that includes Major Applewhite as Offensive Coordinator after Wach left to join LU staff.

Rice, I'm not sure. Are they a filler for the Texas A&M series where both teams agreed to back out because it caused scheduling conflicts?

Western Michigan, they could be the TAMU replacement, or they are just a team we needed to pick up for our 12th game.

We had scheduling conflicts with better OOC teams when the new ACC schedules were created. The teams we're playing this year are are last-minute scheduling fillers.

In the future, we get back to playing better teams, like Alabama, Colorado, Texas A&M, etc.

I believe that one of the games you mentioned was a filler for the Texas A&M scheduling conflict. I believe that FSU and Texas A&M mutually agreed to drop their game(s) when additional games were scheduled due to the expansion of the ACC. I could be wrong, but I think that is the way it played out.
