New WCU coach faces big challenges

CULLOWHEE — Armed with the biggest financial commitment to an athletic coach in the school’s history and a user-friendly 2008 schedule that could produce a decent start, Dennis Wagner was introduced Friday as the latest savior for Western Carolina football.
The former Nebraska assistant coach said he was eager to get started rebuilding a program that has dropped 19 of its last 20 games and hasn’t won a Southern Conference meeting in its last 15 attempts.
WCU’s schedule for next season begins with NAIA school Shorter (Ga.) before a trip to Florida State.Click Here for Full Story
The next four weeks are games against FCS opponents Liberty, Presbyterian, The Citadel and Samford.
