Biggest win? Football over G-W. The win over Coastal meant nothing if we didn't win the conference.

Best individual performance? Josh McDougal national championship.

Best female athlete? Megan Frazee

Best male athlete? Gotta give it to Josh.

Best newcomer? Vince Redd

If McDougal doesn't win Best Male Athlete and Best Individual Performance with 100% of the vote, I quit. Seriously, anyone who even tries to make a case against him has absolutely zero sports knowledge and deserves a good :buttkick .

As far as the other categories go...
Biggest win- Football over GW. Coastal was a huge game at home, but SJ's right, the conference championship win was bigger.
Female athlete- Megan
Newcomer- Vince all the way.

i dont care about track or cross country, but if McDougal doesn't win at least best male athlete then the Sparky's are a sham.

You can now vote for the biggest win:

Volleyball: 3-0 sweep of Winthrop, ending the Eagles’ 63-match Big South winning streak (Oct. 27, 2007)
Football: 31-0 win at Gardner-Webb, wrapping up the 2007 Big South title (Nov. 17, 2007)
Men’s Soccer: 2-1 victory over Radford in Big South Championship match (Nov. 18, 2007)

I had a hard time choosing between the football win, the volleyball win, and the wrestling team win. The football team winning the conference championship was great, but that win over G-W I wouldn’t say was a great win because we were so much better than them. The volleyball win we proved we belonged as the best team in the conference. The wrestling team winning the east regional was impressive and more of a national level performance than the others.

In the end, we know the football win will end up winning this sparky because people care more about football.

I am sorry...they missed it again. BY FAR the biggest and most exciting win (for those of us glued to our TV's)...was Josh's win at XC Nationals last fall.

Agree 100% and if it was there it would have had my vote.
I went with the GW win not for the greatness of the win itself but for it's significance in program history!

I think they didn’t list that because it will be listed as the best individual performance since it wasn’t a team win.

That means 30% of the people who voted have no intelligence at all.
I guess I shouldn't complain. Our entrance standards must be improving, he didn't win last year (for best male athlete).

You have to realize that some of the people voting are more than likely family and friends of the nominated athletes. So, they will vote for them regardless of who the other candidates are. Therefore, I think 70% is very, very good especially for an Olympic sport athlete.
