We're not behind the benches anymore guys. It sucks but oh well. We'll lose a big part of our home court advantage but there's nothing we can do.

Hey, I don't like it either. There's nothing really we can do though. The decision was made. I don't know who made it or why it was made but it was made.

Man, this is a weird choice. That means the scorer's table will be switched, which will force the media to the student side so you guys can just heckle scar all game long. I hate not seeing the benches on TV. I wonder why we decided to handicap ourselves like that.

You can't blame us for that. If that were the case they'd switch sides for football too.

Super, with all due respect, do you honestly think your group was not the cause of the move?
During how many games did a security officer or usher have to talk to your group?

by SuperJon
Three. And two of em were because the officer was an idiot and he was removed from working basketball games. He tried to throw me out for using the words "Shut up" in one game and he purposely bumped into another guy at another game. The other game it was a student worker starting things and he was called into the AD's office the next Monday.

To think we're the worst group of students this school has ever seen is absolutely ridiculous. We police ourselves more than you can even think. It's generally people around us that are going too far. I miss large parts of the games because I'm going around making sure the wrong things aren't said. You will not hear our group say the word "Suck" at a game because the athletic department asked us not to do so. Everyone around us still does and doesn't care that we were asked not to say that. Were there times that the line was crossed? Yes. However, in each of those times the problem was addressed and fixed. It was things people didn't know would be a problem that was and we made sure it was better. You hear worse things from the front row of the padded seats by people named Falwell than you do from us half the time.

If we were truly a problem, other team's coaches wouldn't tell us that we were the best student section in the Big South. We wouldn't have the support we have from the people we have it from. We may have been a part of it but I still don't believe that's the case.

I wonder how much complaining they're going to get next year when some kid screams "You suck" and it's picked up on tv. It won't be the LUnatics saying it. It'll be someone else. We'll get blamed for it, but it won't be us. I just wonder how things will be then.

I was down there with the LUnatics for many games and I can vouch for what Jon is saying. Its possible to be rabid fans and still do so in a respectful way, and I applaud Jon for not only getting one of the craziest groups of fans together, but also for making sure things were done teh right way. I do kinda wish he had more opportunities to enjoy whats happening on the field or court and being a fan instead of having to put out fires because somebody went overboard (which did happen from time to time).

That's a great point...plus you get rid of the conference-mandated opponents section that sits mostly empty on TV...and you also get their fans away from the students. Hmmm....that could work.

Man, I used to live for getting a large group to yell random things with an opposing coach that's yelling at the refs. I'm sad that's over.

But we still have the memories :D

I'm glad they'll be closer to me!
