Hats

I was on the coastal site and they have a thread going on apparel. From there I realized Lids makes hats for CCU. I went to the Lids website and they make hats for just about every college in the country except for LU. Why? We definitely have a lack of quality hats. Universal T’s has some that are nice, but nothing compares with Lids.

I agree....the hats have gotten better...but nothing compares to Lids hats...I would finally buy one if they made one for LU...

I buy an LU hat every so often. There's always somethign about them that makes me stop wearing it. It may get uncomfortable, or it's not shaped right, or the front collapses in or something. And this is already narrowed down to the ones that actually look good. There are a lot of garbage looking ones. What does the baseball team wear? I assume they have good hats.

Go to
www.lids.com and click search by NCAA team and look at all the teams on there. Look at the hats they have for Coastal, they have 13. Many of those are much nicer than any I have ever seen for LU. Why don't they make LU hats?
They have Coastal, VMI, UNC-A

, Samford, etc.

I've been wanting one of the navy hats with a white front panel that the baseball team wears for a while now.
The hats alone I think look good. With their uniforms not so much.

And you know if they have one for Coastal they should have one for everybody. CCU won't even let fans use their logo on a website.

LU could use an upgrade of the angry seagull on their hats.

I sent them an e-mail though I doubt they respond.

it'd be nice if they'd get LU hats. we need a bigger variety. most of mine have come from the bookstore. i have 1 from universal, but most of their's don't have anything on the back and i don't like the way that looks

Here's how Coastal got their hats in Lids/Hat World:
People walked into the store, asked, "Hey, do you have any Coastal Carolina hats? Oh, you don't? Thanks anyways." and walked out.
If we were to do that at the store in Lynchburg specifically (and even other stores) then it puts pressure on the local manager of the store to get hats in. The same company that makes Lids/Hat World's hats is the company that Barnes & Noble uses for the bookstore.
I know the school is trying to get in these places. They want our stuff to be sold wherever it can be. They're doing their part. All we have to do is when we go shopping, go into a store like Lids or a Foot Locker/Finish Line and ask if they have Liberty stuff. If they say no, say thanks and leave. It may take some time, but with us doing that along with the school doing their part on the corporate level, it helps move things along faster.
Also, not sure if you have checked the athletics online store, but a couple of their hats aren't bad:

I've checked their stuff but I don’t like them. I’m picky when it comes to hats as I have a hard time getting one to fit properly. Lids is about the only place I’ve found where their hats almost always fit perfect.

Then the only thing I know to tell you is go into Lids and ask for Liberty stuff next time you're at a mall. I know they're close to getting them into Lids stores so this could push it over the top.

ya, I'm not a big fan of the flames on the hats. Just put the logo on a hat and make it look nice. It will sell.

i agree. the simpler the better. I'm not a huge fan of the flame on the front of the hat. i like just a simple LU, with maybe the flame on the back or liberty on the back

Think Nascar. There's a reason people like Medic buy that hat. It's not for everyone.

No. That gets it to the corporate office. Going in to the local store puts pressure on the local store.

Why don't we all just do both?

cause some of us have better stuff to do and hate going in the mall

Then keep complaining about the quality of hats.

i said i like some of the bookstore ones. i just don't like the other offerings because most look like they were designed for nascar fans (stereotype, not aimed at anyone here.. except maybe medic)
