400 - 5
That's the score of LU's Quiz Bowl team defeating the faculty team of 4 PhDs.

My guess is that the profs trying to adjust to the format may have played some role in that ridiculous outcome.

That's honestly the most lop-sided score we have ever had in my 3 years of coaching Quiz Bowl, and we were playing against 4 PhDs & a librarian. In fact, the faculty had to go on a run to get out of the negative numbers, because at one point in the game their score was a negative 15 (for buzzing in early with the wrong answers).

But it shows our students are smarter than our professors.

Not necessarily smarter, our students are just quicker and more experienced at answering questions in a college bowl format. My only regret is that I didn't videotape it for U-Tube. That would have instantly made Fumble a folk hero in Quiz Bowl circles.
By Saturday night, we'll see how well we did in the Regional tournament in Blacksburg. Here is a list of the teams that we'll be playing against:

It shows that our students are better prepared to push buttons while the fossils ... excuse me, sorry ... professors were busy trying to signal in their answers using the antiquated method of semaphor, all the while fearing that someone was recording their suffering on video
tape to be shown on some website that doesn't start with a "U".

That Librarian must have felt completly out of place....

The Librarian
carried the team--he's the reason they ended up with 5 points instead of negative numbers.

Then he needs to ask to switch paychecks with some of them as well.....thats embarrasing.

Let's just say last night was payback from last year's embarrassment the faculty team laid on the LU student team.

And Fumble was on the winning team--BOTH years.
