Let's talk volleyball!!!

The richkern.com website has posted a third commitment for 2008. Her name is Rebecca Warren. She is a 5' 11" MB/RS, from Greenbriar Christian Academy in Virginia Beach, VA. She plays for Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club.

Does anyone have any more information on this future flame?

The other two are:
Courtney Boggs, a 5'.8" setter from Worthington Christian in Marysville, OH.
Claire Jacobsma, a 6'.1" RS (lefty) from Midland Christian School in Midland, TX.

What do you think coach Pinder is looking for as he puts the final touch on the class of 2008?
What do you know about the incoming crop of talent?
What do you know about the class of 2009?

I believe we might have a poster or two with ties to that school in Tidewater.

Since Naz is back on the board and Scar never leaves, how about a Worthington Christian reminder of Freddie Morgan?

ive got some friends that went to greenbrier. actually, my old HS used to play them in FB semi-frequently.

no clue what pinder has up his sleeve, but whatever it is, im sure it will be fun to watch!

i think that very possibly, the results of this years post season play wont show up until the 2009 recruits come to town... and man, the 2008 recruits are already gonna be great to watch!

Keep in mind Warren is a walk on...she does however play for the top club team around those parts and theres not doubt you welcome someone like that to push others in practices

Like i mentioned before look for about 5 more walk on's to be announced here soon....practices will be nuts this year!

Here is what I think is happening:
- The 2007 team and their winning season showed how much faith, talent, heart, chemistry and coaching the program has.
- The teamwork and joy displayed on the court connected with students, and they became fans.
- The fans supported the winning streak early, and inspired the team to go for every ball, every point, every victory.
- The visiting recruites saw how much fun the team was having, saw and heard the fans, felt the care and character of the coaches.
- The recruites (many of which are Christians) saw the foundation of the volleyball program... coaches and players walking-the-walk.
- The recruites (many of which are getting offers to play at D1 and D2 state schools) see playing at Liberty as a better option... they want to be part of a special program.

The Liberty program is in a good spot right now. After another strong season where we play big programs tough (Notre Dame, Kansas, Univ. of Cal. at Irvine, Oregon State, etc.), win the Big South, and go to the NCAA tournament, the reputation of the program should reach more recruites in volleyball hot-beds (Southern Cal., Texas, Chicago area, Florida, Arizona, and Colorado).

Go Liberty!!!
