Tuesday night was a beautiful night to play lacrosse. Liberty jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead in the first quarter. The highlight of the period was our best close defenseman, Adam "Woody" Woodmansee, recorded a save while taking over the goalkeeping duties for our goalie who had gotten a 1-minute penalty. We lengthened our lead to 7-3 at half. In the third period we traded goals back and forth with SVU and the quarter ended with Liberty ahead 11-7. The defesne tightened up and we outscored the Knights 3-0 in the last quarter. Final score 14-7.
Liberty was led once again by freshman attackman, Adam Ungaro, who had 4 goals and 2 assists. Tuesday night's game was also the last game in a Flames uniform for Mike Dean, a former All-American. Due to student teaching and Christian Service, Mike has bveen unable to attend most of our games. I was glad that Flames fans had one last opportunity to see him play. He is a joy to watch on the lacrosse field.
