Flames, Lady Flames Aim to Defend Big South Cross Country Titles This Saturday

Lynchburg, Va.

The first two Big South Conference team championships of the 2007-08 athletic year will be awarded Saturday morning, at the New Balance Big South Cross Country Championships, presented by UCS. The Liberty men’s and women’s harriers will both look to defend the conference titles they claimed a year ago, in the meet hosted by UNC Asheville, at Jackson Park in Hendersonville, N.C.

Liberty Sweeps 2007 New Balance Big South Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – Liberty swept the 2007 New Balance Big South Cross Country Championships presented by UCS at Jackson Park in Hendersonville, N.C. on Saturday morning. Coastal Carolina’s Diana Jepchirchir took the top spot in the women’s 5K to pick up Runner of the Year honors. The Flames’ Josh McDougal picked up his fourth-straight League Championship and became one of just 10 NCAA runners to win four-straight Conference championships. For his efforts he was tabbed the Runner of the Year for the men.

Indeed...Josh Mcdougal wins...again, LU wins both team titles...again, and ho hum Brant Tolsma adds to his already legendary status with two more coach of the year awards


(I am not downplaying the achievement mind you, just playing off Sly's comment about another day at the office)

Congrats are definitely in order. Is there a hall of fame for Cross country and/or track? Coach Tolsma definitely ought to be considered
