First game goes to Liberty 31-29. It was an ugly win according to my courtside friend.

Ashley hit .667
Chelaine .200
Nickie .400
Jessica .364
Karyl .182
Kallie .250

Second game is now tied at 11-11.

A win is a win and it keeps the streak intact.

We Take Game Two!!!

Game two goes to us 30-24, but they were in the lead for most of the game. The girls are creating a pattern of late game rallies... Coach Pinder's tuff-minded approach (in daily practice) is paying off.

Digs:
Lara - 8
Kallie - 10
Karyl - 11
Nicki - 8
Jessica - 6
Ashley - 3
Chelaine - 2

We have 48 digs to their 35... great job girls!!!

I dont even know what to say anymore...this is nuts

What I love is yesterday Chelaine didnt play like she normally did and today KB didnt play like she normally does...THIS IS GREAT TO SEE! b/c everyone has to pick up slack...in the past we'd lose these games when our go to player is struggling and yet now we're winning them b/c we're so deep...keep in mind Jess still hasnt played like she has in the previous years and yet everyone picks up everyone

I joked with coach P that he needs to throw a game or 2 to the other team once in a while but with a win like yesterday (during the tight game) and today's first game that's what the girls need to start feeling some pressure...that's a great win in extra points and the offense not clicking like they are used to...this is what GREAT teams are made of, finding a way to win when everything isnt going perfectly for you

Great job girls

Considering the struggles of this team just a year ago, this run is absolutely improbable.

Congrats to the girls and I'm looking forward to seeing them play in person next week.

Thanks to Gymtalk for the online updates and to Vadim for the courtside phone calls. I am looking forward to seeing you guys next week for the big game and also meeting a few of you on this forum. This has been quite a ride so far. I have enjoyed hearing from the die hard fans on this site.

On a side note. I talked with Jamie Hall last week from "The Light Christian Radio Station". I asked him when the 2007 Lady Flames Volleyball action photos would be posted. I checked today and they are up! Vadim and Gymtalk, check out the site, there are some pretty cool action shots of our girls that are available for purchase. Go to www.thelightonline.com and hit the sports photos tab.

CCU Win

It was great to see that we can still win on the road when we aren't playing red hot. Coastal seemed pretty fired up to start the match, and they came out firing on all cylinders. We seemed to be a little slow of foot and our passing was less than sterling. Nicki was off her game and KB was a little off as well, but Chelaine got her regular game back and Ashley made the absolute most of her opportunities. She had a great block at the end of game 2 that caused CCU's middle to mishandle the ball and get called for a lift to end the game. Lara made the most spectacular save you have ever seen and it went right up the net where Kallie tipped it in for a kill and the 29th point.

The gym was small with a low ceiling and the crowd was really quiet. The noise level was definitely different from last night. Coach was very relaxed through the whole match it seemed to me. I could hear his instruction to the girls in several of the time outs and he really seemed to put them at ease. He even had them laughing coming out of one of the time outs. I think his level of calm set the tone for the girls that we had things under control.

Chopertony has a good idea. I would like to meet some of you guys that I don't personally know also. Any chance we can arrange to meet either before or after one the matches this weekend?

Random stat sidebar: this is the first time LU has not had at least 50 team kills in a match since Sept 14 vs Princeton
