I'm thankful for LibertyFlames.com

I know there are ALOT of parents that live all around the country that enjoy the up to date stats and stories on our website. The minute you start to take LibertyFlames.com for granted go to other BSC websites...there are some schedules (UNCA) that have not been updated in months.

We still have problems at times but I wanted to give credit when credit is due....we've come a long way baby 8)

It's a little early for Thanksgiving thoughts, but I too am thankful for Flamefans.com.

my almost 2800 posts shows I'm thankful for FF....but I'm talking about LibertyFlames.com!

Todd and the rest of the Athletic Media Relations staff have really cranked it up...and I think Vince it the web-master for them. I was skeptical about them moving it in-house using Liberty's web manager program, but it works great.

I thought that was supposed to be a list of message boards

Kevin Keys has said they want to use LibertyFlames.com as its own, separate media source, and they've done a great job with it. We're the only school that does weekly interviews (along with the press conferences), player profiles, etc.

you are correct.

need more coffee.

(don't think they have one though- can I use that as justification and claim I intended it to be a temporary substitute?)

Has anyone else been having trouble with libertyflames.com's front page recently? It seems as if in the last week or so they have changed from showing one top story to rotaing between a few top stories. Since they have done that, I haven't been able to get the front page to fully load. Is it just me?

Yeah, something about that little Flash app they're using keeps reading from the server as the stories scroll through so it looks like it never finishes loading. Kinda sucks.

And do we know if anyone is trying to fix this? It's been like that for at least a week.

There's nothing to fix. That's just how it works. That's why I said it kinda sucks.

I don't have anything to do with the content of the website, though. For that I am very thankful.

Well then it does suck. It seemed to me that it wasn't working properly. Oh well.

Works for me at home, but not at work. It seems that a significant percentage can't see it, so they need to either do something different or if there is a download needed to view it they at least should have a link for that. It won't help me at work because I'm not allowed to download anything.

I'm in the same boat as you

I never had a problem with this site from a technical end. Flamesfans.com is great and I always like to read the posting no matter if I agree with them or not. Keep up the good work.

Steve, we're talking about libertyflames.com, not flamefans.com.

Sorry about that. I guess I get them confused.

That's okay. I'll help you out.

libertyflames.com = The official LU Athletics Department website. Owned, operated and maintained by Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

flamefans.com = Free message board where discussion of LU athletics takes place that is in no way officially affiliated with (or representative of) Liberty University. Owned in Texas by Sly Fox. Operating in Lansing, Michigan and maintained from Lynchburg by yours truly.

OK, it all makes sense to me now. They are both very good.

I just tried to check what the SIDs had to say about the Lady Flames win last night, and I discovered that with their new headline format I can't even access the most recent postings from my computer at work. I hope they look into this.

So, since they did their little "update" to this website, with the top stories scrolling, the site has become absolutely WORTHLESS to me. I can't see or read the top 3 or 4 stories or however many they scroll through at a time. I have to wait until they fall into the "more headlines" section, and by then they are completely worthless since I've already heard or read them.

Once again, libertyflames.com is WORTHLESS
