This is a very good test for LU this weekend!!! I'm hoping for some good numbers this weekend for our Outsides...I'm looking for some changes there also...hopefully we can get a OH putting up a good %...I'm hoping Nic is starting to get her legs back (with her recent numbers i think she is) and she's going to be the one....not to mention it looks like KB is back and ready!

Here we go!

Shameless plug alert: I am recording my first ever Flames Minute tonight to be aired tomorrow. Volleyball is the topic and I hope that you guys enjoy it because I was a little nervous getting ready to record because I had issues with the recorder and lost my interview with Coach Pinder from earlier today but managed to come up with something.

Don't know what the Flames minute is or where to hear or see it, but I'm sure that since it is about volleyball, it will be great.

Flames Minute is somethin GMTM came up with this year so we could keep all you cool cats out there updated on the goings on in LU Athletics. Monday and Friday are for football (and I'm sure once the season is finished those days will switch to basketball), and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are for what he described as "Olympic Sports" (cross country, track, volleyball, soccer, golf, tennis wrestling, etc.). GMTM and Numbah1 used to have a full blown hour long weekly show about it for the last couple years.

The feedback from folks that have heard it was really really good. For those of you who want to hear it and did not catch it yesterday: http://liberty.edgeboss.net/download/li ... -27-07.mp3

I think you talked insanely too fast. I had trouble understanding most of it, and I'm used to your voice.

I actually agree with you on that point Jon. When I heard the audio I actually thought I sounded pretty fast (even with the time constraints that I was under)

It wasn't just that you were fast. It's like you were speeding up and speeding up for 3/4 of a sentence and the last 3 words you'd slow down and hold them out.

That is a good observation Jon. I will work on that for the next time I do a Flames Minute. This one was my first but outside of the fact that I was really fast, I think it turned out alright.

A little on the rapid side in the first stages of your minute, and no problem after that. I think as you continue in this, you'll find the exact balance between getting information out, and not causing discomfort to the hearers because they feel "rushed." Having said that, I think you have a professional category radio voice, and I had no trouble understanding
every (any) word.

Overall rating "A-" but predicting an "A+" next time.

Huge match tomorrow between LU and WU. Winthrop isn't as experienced as they've been the last few years, so they've had some rough moments this year so far...but they seem to be putting things together now. It'll be interesting to see how these two teams match up against each other.
