Here are my observations from tonight:

1. Kallie Corbin is one of if not the best setter in the conference. She made almost no bad sets tonight. She has an unbelievable touch on the ball and I can see why it was said in another discussion that she has very soft hands.

2. From the looks of things, Jessica Nelson is back from that leg injury. She was getting some great rips on the ball tonight.

3. Randolph College has a good coach in Jonathan Willis. He will be missed.

4. The freshman girls are going to contribute right away.

5. This is a hustle team. They were flying all over the place tonight and doing more digging than a cemetery.

6. Mary Alice Pike could very well be all conference at the end of the year.

Im sure sportscritic has some observations of his own from tonight to offer as well.

Thanks BJ Williams

Anyone - Which players were on "white" and which were on "Blue" for tonights match?

Anyone - How many students showed up to watch?

Anyone - Was the level of play entertaining enought to win fans for the season opener this weekend?

my assessment of the scrimmage was that there were a couple of sets that were slow but that was in the beginning of the scrimmage. Serving was fair, the quick header play was very inconsistent (timing issue). Karyl was very good so was jessica nelson. there was some physical play at the net and passing was pretty good for the most part. defensively the team was very good and they are no longer being spectators on defense like they have been in the last couple of seasons. they are going after every ball. hopefully there will be a good turnout at the tournament this weekend.
