Fayetteville Christian's Scripko heading to Liberty
By Earl Vaughan Jr.
Scholastic sports editor
One of the best athletes in Cumberland County history headed off to college a few weeks ago.
But unless you ever wandered over to Fayetteville Christian School for a volleyball match the last four years, chances are you never got to see her play.
And with the college choice she made, chances are you won’t get to see her there either unless you ride up to Lynchburg, Va.
Nicki Scripko could have gone to a much bigger school, such as the University of North Carolina.

Nicki's older sister tore her ACL playing basketball in high school and then reinjured it as well - for now I think Nicki is planning on being a one sport athlete at LU (though she enjoyed playing other sports in high school, and there's some home video of her floating around somewhere tearing it up playing flag football as - she'd be a heck of a WR).
