Liberty University Head Wrestling Coach Jesse Castro has announced the signing of T.J. Mitchell to a national letter of intent for the 2007-08 academic year.
"T.J. is an intense competitor,” commented Castro. “The tougher the competition, the tougher T.J. wrestles. I believe he will adjust to the level of Division I competition quickly.
No mention of weight class but he does fit with LU's new requirement of wearing bow ties!

Little Guy- (ironic, no?) at 125 lbs.
won the Richmond Invite at that weight class in Dec- looks like he finished 5th at states back in March
looks like a solid find.
Coach likes those Jersey boys, and Raritan is a good progam.

I knew, if anybody, you'd be excited about a new recruit. 'Tis a shame, the wrestling phenomenon hasn't caught on here on campus yet.

oh- give it time.
And I hear talk of a new facility on campus for wrestling- thats great news. Get another successful season under the belt and GOOD MARKETING, and you'll see students drawn into it.
Gotta be the most exciting individual sport out there.
