"Big South on the Edge"

Liberty Featured on Season Finale of Big South on the Edge

The Big South Conference’s magazine TV show, “Big South On The Edge”, concludes this Thursday, March 16, across the Big South Television Network with the eighth and final show of the season that features Liberty University.

Big South Women’s Basketball Champion Liberty University is this week’s featured member institution and the episode’s first airing in Virginia will be Thursday night at 10:30pm on WDRL-UPN in Roanoke, while Liberty Channel in Lynchburg will air the show Friday evening at 6:00pm ET. The Lady Flames will make their 10th-straight NCAA Tournament appearance this Saturday night and will face No. 4 seed DePaul in the first round in Chicago.

In addition to a profile of head women’s basketball coach Carey Green, this week’s episode includes a feature on new football coach Danny Rocco and Liberty alum/Green Bay Packers RB Samkon Gado as part of “Pepsi’s Look Outside The Gym” segment. Episode eight will also feature:

The inaugural season of “Big South On The Edge” originated from a different Big South member institution each week and was hosted by “Voice of the Big South” Matt Hogue. In addition to highlighting the respective women’s basketball program, the show featured the head coach, Big South student-athletes’ leadership initiatives, an array of human-interest pieces, as well as a weekly review and preview in women’s basketball. The show aired weekly in each Big South market on the affiliates listed below, with Thursdays as the first-run date for new shows. The entire first season has been video archived and is available on the Conference’s website, www.BigSouthSports.com.
