Had the opportunity to hear from Coach today via email.

Obviously he is working hard and is probably occupied 24/7 with his task- but the fact that he took the time to speak with me really showed his dedication.

As a brief update: Coach relayed that the relationship with AD-Barber is growing and he feels that the AD seems very willing to learn about the sport. (EDITORIAL : and I hope willing to FUND IT!)

As far as the team goes- Coach reports that they are still in the initial stages, but that things are going quite well on the recruiting scene, staff, and fundraising.

He also stated that they hope to make headway on the scheduling trail as the NCAA finishes up their national tournament this next week. That speaks well for next year!

More info to follow as it is released.

I'm assuming the scheduling was in relation to a conference affiliation. Was that what you surmised?

yeah- he was pretty vague and I didn't get a response to my follow-up email yet, but I figured that was sort of the direction he was going. Or at least lining up some consistent matches for the next several seasons if we can't get right into a league.

BTW- for anyone who's interested the Nat Tourney is on ESPN this weekend- it was opposite the Big Dance last nite so I'm probably one of the few who caught any of it.

No official announcement yet, but word is that the staff for next year looks good.

Pat Sole from WV is coming in as a full time assistant, and Coach will also have two grad assistants, as well as a part timer in Paul Anthony (former local high school coach- not sure from where.)
