has the"Other Sports" forum served it's purpose?

Now that the Track and Field forum is up and running (and drawing participation from current and former flames runners). It occured to me that maybe now is the time to do away with the somewhat demeaning "other" category. It's getting more and more like the Gilligan's Island theme song, where the original version named almost everyone, and then finished with "and the rest" when "the rest" was just the professor and Mary Ann.
Here's my idea. Do away with this forum and have one called "Country Club Sports" (or something to that effect) for tennis and golf, and another called "Not quite sports" for debate, QUIZ BOWL band, cheerleading, paintball, etc. I think that covers pretty much everything, and I believe it would be much easier to find when someone who is not an every day poster or lurker here wants to check out those sports/activities. what do you think?

Not this year, but they have in the past and I believe plan on competing again in the future.

Instead of two boards, just call this the "Other Things" thread and have it mention tennis, golf, debate, band, etc in the description. No use for two boards that never get any traffic. It's just more stuff the rest of us skip over.

The OP has been duly edited. Any other glaring omissions?

SJ,
I fail to see how splitting one forum into 2 would make your life any harder, and I think it would simplify things for newbies.

It would make my life harder, there's already too many forums on here in my opinion. I don't think we need to add any more.

I think baseball/softball could be combined into a Hardball forum. Hockey and wrestling could get combined into a "Cult Following" forum. Volleyball should get thrown into "Other Sports." Soccer could even get thrown into the "Other Sports." We'd have:
Football
Men's Basketball
Women's Basketball
Hardball
Track & Field
Other Sports
Non-LU Sports

Here's a great quote:
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
The site is extremely easy to navigate, and we don't need to be adding more or doing away with forums. Maybe if we got more discussion about our golf and tennis teams, then add a country club forum. Otherwise...just leave it be.
