Liberty Men, Women Win Team Titles at 2007 New Balance Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships Presented by UCS

For the first time since 2002, the Liberty men’s and women’s teams swept the team titles at the New Balance Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships Presented by UCS, which wrapped up Saturday afternoon at the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex.

Speaking of Sasser Cup...here are the up-to-the-minute standings, which includes every sport except for the final two (softball & baseball):

1. Coastal - 10.37 (155.5 total points/15 sports)
2. Winthrop - 10.00 (150 total points/15 sports)
3. Liberty - 9.57 (143.5 total points/15 sports)
4. High Point - 7.87 (118 total points/15 sports...HPU doesn't play softball)
5. Radford - 7.50 (112.5 total points/15 sports)
6. Birm.-Southern - 6.50 (65 total points/10 sports...BSC doesn't play baseball)
7. UNC Asheville - 6.37 (82.75 total points/13 sports...UNCA doesn't play softball)
8. Charleston So. - 6.33 (95 total points/15 sports)
9. VMI - 3.93 (39.25 total points/10 sports...VMI doesn't play softball)
