Lady Flames Fall To Men's Club Volleyball Team In Four Games
March 29, 2007
Lynchburg, Va.
The Liberty Lady Flames volleyball team got off to a fast start Thursday evening in its scrimmage versus the LU men’s club team at the Vines Center, controlling the opening game from start to finish. However, the club team came back to win the next three games and take a 3-1 (25-30, 30-22, 34-32, 30-27) decision.

I was there for most of it...the problem to me seems like a break down in communication that happened somewhere in the second game. The girls are talented, Jess Nelson was looking great, Coach Pinder has a good playbook...it just seems they need to work on in-game communication and timing.

sorry but I have to agree w/ SJ on this one.
I never expected to see schollie athletes fall to a club team. Maybe time to re-evaluate who's getting schollies ?

With all due respect, even our Sweet 16 women would've probably lost to one of our better mens intramural teams. So this is not exactly embarassing unless these guys are terrible.
would you be happy about losing to this team:

Haha, that picture is extremely old, several of the guys in that don't even go here anymore. Personally I was hoping the men's team was holding back, b/c if not...then they ARE terrible.

They have played the Men 3 times this spring. I believe their overall record is now 2 wins and 1 loss...so this would be their only loss to them
Does anyone know if Jonathan was playing with the mens team...b/c if he's playing along with that other guy they're pretty tough...if Jon's not playing then we should have won....but then again we've beat them before when he's been in the lineup this spring

Hey don't be too harsh on the girls losing to the guys team... Remember the guys were playing girls on a "GIRLS" net! Men normally play on a higher net. So the fact that the girls took a game off of the guys and made each game pretty tight is an accomplishment. Just remember that the guys had a huge advantage.

When I made the pathetic comment, I forgot about the different nets. That's what being in Canada will do to you.

had no clue there was a difference.
do the Title IX people or the NOW gang know about this?
I smell a lawsuit here.

The question is though, will they sue to make the men's nets lower or the ladies nets higher?
