Girl's lacrosse will be traveling as a small squad to North Carolina (DUKE) to play DUKE/UNCC/ and I believe ELON. These girls have no coach, not a very large team, and almost no support. We need to keep them in our prayers and possibly look for ways to maybe help the program, to push for it's survival. If men's lacrosse has any hope of becoming a varsity program in any way it will be through the women's team.

The student running the women's lacrosse team is now Meredith Ehrich. They are currently no able to afford to travel as a team, with the new coach bus rule. They would be grateful with anyone who can make donations and/or help with fundraising. Her contact email is mjehrich@liberty.edu

I wrote to Meredith and invited her to drop by and give us an update on the team's situation. Hopefully we'll hear back- we need to support these club teams!

Heard from Meredith and promised I would pass along some info:

She's happy to report the ladies "have grown as a team immensely this season" Although they havent won any games, they "have been able to compete with older/established teams such as Duke and Elon." (both of those games LU ladies started by scoring the first 2 or three points).

Meredith reports that most of the girls this year just learned how to play : they are all looking forward to next season and I am sure hoping to build on the experience from this year.

The team expects continuing financial difficulties: next season they "will be hit with about $1,000+ bill from the league along with other traveling expenses. Any help that you could give with this would be greatly appreciated!"

Its my hope that we can help this young team out somehow- at least pass the word about their situation- seems to me if we can get $1000 "scholarships" out of the admin the money should be there to help the ladies as well.
