Great results. Not sure anyone could expect better from a 1st year program.

So does that mean we're in the national tournament? I don't follow wrestling so I have no clue.

the winners of each weight class go on to nationals. so 4 of the team move on.

Also look for tough draws at National because of the weak "conference". We really should look at moving into tougher conferences soon here so that the wrestlers will get easier draws at nationals.

Steve...we're not even in a conference yet. Anyway, since JMU is dropping wrestling, does anyone think the CAA will welcome us back???

That would be a great development, the CAA link. Could go a long way in CAA Liberty relations for future years. (I know, I know, not gonna happen...still gotta hold out a flicker of hope...Rudy, Rudy, Rudy...)

Oh, and congrats to Coach Castro for the coach of the year honors...looking forward to many more years of stellar results.

Your right atrain I should have said (and meant) association or conference.
And I would recommend the EIWA wrestling ASSOCIATION tough teams and better draws at National Champs.

First- OUTSTANDING Showing by the guys.

really, incredible. I would NEVER have thought we'd have gone this far in year #1.

and we do have a "potential conf affiliation" thread around here somewhere- gotta dig that one up. Forgot about JMU dropping the progam - another Title IX deal  :BS

Very impressive first year for LU. I don't think that you could ask for more from a first year program. We just need to get into a conference preferably the Colonial and keep up the great recruiting.

Thought this was a nice view:

Champions:
junior + sophmore + (2) freshmen = a great start to the future (depending on recruitment)
