very very very sorry to hear about this.
hoping against all hope that there may be a way to salvage something, but I guess its not to be.
I had a sinking feeling when I noticed the guys' site was down.

Yea, this is a great time to take personal shots at other people. Congratulations on being a jerk.

Thelaxman wrote:I got an E-mail copy of Mettalo's letter with the Player Rep from Elon saying that they did not have enough Players to field a Team this weekend. The Assigning Official from the SELC sent it to me. I can't say that I feel sorry for the school or Metallo after the way I was treated. Mettalo rode on my Coat strings and did not understand what it would take to build a national contender. I had hoped he would pick up where I left off but I find this all very disappointing after I put so much of myself into building Liberty into a contender in the SELC. I can't find anything else nice to say but I am very sad to see Lacrosse leave the Mountain again!
All the best,

Disapointing news delivered in a disapointing way by Thelaxman.
I don't know you but judging by the tone of your message and the fact that you mention your self multiple times I have to echo SJ
Don't go away mad, just go away

well said SJ & FD
It's just time to let it go, and either forget about the bitterness or forget about LU

I would be suprised if numbers is the problem - I know a few freshman that would play but couldn't get connected.
In contrast with the ice hockey program which is very well organized and coached, the lax club seems to suffer from a lack of recognition.
Lax is a great spectator sport, I am sure LU students would get behind the team with better "marketing".
Is JF a fan?
Bottom line, I would love to see the program come back and thrive - it would be great for LU

okay...thanks for the parody....
however, one lacrosse player Adam Woodmansee made the football team as a walk-on, so at least he has something to do

man you guys are rough....calling out this guy for being bitter and a jerk when you guys are doing the same thing.,..
with that said I remember my freshmen year going to quite a few lacrosse games at Williams Stadium. I had never gotten into the game until then and liked it a lot.
I don't know who this guy is who is posting, if he is the former coach or what...but I remember the coaching talking in convo once about the lacrosse team, at least i think it was lacrosse....didn't the coach travel from north carolina to Lynchburg weekly to coach the guys??
anyways. to be honest I didn't even know if we had a lacrosse team anymore, never saw them practicing or anything...you use to always see guys walking around with their lacrosse sticks...then last year nothing
anyways...those are my thoughts

This is the same guy that you're talking about. He has just been insanely bitter since the whole thing went down and came off like he's happy the team failed without him. Sure, he can say he's not, but reread the first post and tell me if that's not what you get from him.

Here's my thoughts....
He's going to make a buck off of a awful event (if it even ever comes out)
In my mind this is the same as Jim Bakers book "I was wrong"

I forgot about that.
Good point.

Yes, thelaxman is the guy who played for the team back when I was in school when the club was formed and then came back to coach the team several years back. Yes he does have animosity toward the current coach and the school for how things were handled in light of the horrific crash in Alabama. Yes, he could've shown less bitterness in his post to start this thread. But he does have some reason to be frustrated with th club folding considering the sacrifices he made to build it.
Lets try to move on beyond thelaxman discussion and focus on the loss of LAX at LU. I'd love to have some of the current players who have frequented the board in the past come on here and explain how things fell apart. We have an entire forum on this board because there was interest. Perhaps its not too late to salvage the situation.

This is really a sad day. What did Metallo do? Good luck to Laxman at UNM.

I'm sorry to hear about the team and even more sorry about the way this has turned ugly otherwise.
In every dealing I have had with him I would say that the LAXMAN is a good guy. I might not have said things exactly the way he did but under the circumstance I have to give him some latitude.
NO ONE can know how they would react after such a devastating accident. To be cold hearted to him goes against every thing we are taught in Christianity.
What happened to him was life altering and traumatic beyond what most of us can comprehend.
Whether we think LU handled this situation right or not is irrelevant to my point, I don't know the correct answer, but as Christian brothers, we should be praying for his health, praying that the bitterness would cease... not adding to it by bashing him and calling him names.

FSN is on campus, thelaxman is on the left coast. Unless one of them can throw really far, I don't see it happening.
Way to use reason there HMO.

I get why you laughed, but I actually wasn't trying to be funny. I'm dead serious. I'd like to know the answer to that question.
SJ: I wasn't talking about FSN, I was talking about the person who posts as "Dude".
