We scrimmaged the Faculty team last night to end our season:
LU freshmen over faculty, 405-150
LU varsity over faculty, 410-230
LU seniors over faculty, 525-160

And the team designed and paid for their own Quiz Bowl t-shirts, with my picture on the back!

I'm not necessarily agreeing with you, Medic. But there is a possibility that Sherry Shriner could have been in one of CJ's classes before she left to start her own cult. Coincidence?

I feel like I may have had CJ for a Freshmen Lit class back in 1990, but I have not pulled a transcript.

It's been a while since I posted any scores, but Liberty Quiz Bowl took 3 teams down to UNC for the ACF Fall tournament last Saturday, October 15: our varsity team finished second out of 12 teams, and the leading scorer for the whole tournament was a senior on our varsity team. Here are the 10 wins we scored on Saturday (and I promise that none of these ridiculous scores are typos):

Liberty A over Duke, 410-80
Liberty A over South Carolina, 310-240
Liberty A over LU B, 450-60
Liberty A over UNC, 430-100
Liberty A over UNC, 380-130
Liberty A over Duke, 580-35
Liberty A over LU C, 360-110
Liberty B over UNC, 220-140
Liberty B over LU C, 200-165
Liberty C over Virginia Tech, 210-195

LU's varsity team finished their NAQT season by being ranked #37th in the country, compared to VCU at #50th and VT at #78. Study
Also, William & Mary is ranked ahead of us at #34 (based on PPG), but LU beat them last week at Sectionals, 415-270.

Sadly, no, not unless several schools decline.

Normally, only the top 25 teams are chosen for Nationals. But LU did rank above Southern Cal, Oklahoma, NYU, Syracuse, Michigan State, VCU, Tennessee, Michigan, Mississippi State, Dartmouth, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Rice, Arkansas, and Florida State.

At Sectionals this year, several major universities attended an ONLINE tournament hosted by Texas which had unusually high PPG scores, and 8 of those schools were ranked above us in PPG: Chicago, Rutgers, UPenn, UPenn B, Princeton, Catholic, Hopkins, & Columbia (historically, LU has beaten UPenn, Princeton, and Hopkins in Quiz Bowl).

In comparison, our PPG this year ranked higher than Harvard's in 2014, when we last traveled for the NAQT Nationals.

Tied for second place at Sectionals this year is the best performance that we've ever had at NAQT Sectionals (and beating the other second place team William & Mary, 415-270).

When we were ranked 14th in the country in 2014 (beating Ohio State, Michigan, South Carolina, and Cal at Nationals), we were only ranked 4th at NAQT Sectionals that year.
