Liberty began the ICT national tournament ranked 26th in the country, but with a 6-7 record at nationals, we improved our final ranking to 20th in the country.

Our two most impressive wins were against the University of Alabama (315-195) and Northeastern University (165-145); we even beat our first Canadian team, Carleton University (340-55).

While we did have 2 losses to the Ivy Leagues, we nevertheless scored 190 points on Harvard and 185 points on Columbia. And LU, at 20th, finished ahead of Ivy League Cornell who finished at 25th in the country.

One of our Quiz Bowl alumni took her knowledge and skills to LA:
Liberty University's own 3-time Quiz Bowl MVP, Catherine Hardee, M.A., B.A., was selected to play on Jeopardy earlier this month, and the show will air on television this September 23.

question: since I don't know a lot about quiz bowl. do the schools like the Ivy's and patriots tend to field good teams? I guess my question is does Academic "prowess" of the schools dictate how good their teams generally are? Obviously Liberty and Cider are doing it right. Just wanted to know more about the competition.

5. Chicago
6. Illinois
7. Missouri
8. MIT

FYI--the Ivys are underlined; and if you don't recognize a few of those other schools, it's most likely because they are Canadian universities.
