Field Hockey Ranked No. 5

Liberty's first Top 5 program in history is Field Hockey, after splitting a pair of games with UConn. The 4-0 shutout of the Huskies is not something that happens very often: https://www.liberty.edu/flames/index.cf ... &teamID=18

Not being able to beat UConn has been the monkey on the back of our FH team for years. Way longer than our WBB team has been dealing with FGCU, but similar in ways. It's one game, but it's a great win!

Yep, even before FGCU, our women's bball team seemed unable to beat VA Tech for years, despite beating UVA and other big names. It is nice to see our teams conquer that one team that always seemed to have our number, especially UConn field hockey, as they are one of the best programs in the nation.

Now, go find another team you can’t seem to beat. Always be chasing higher.

Except in football...just try and get to the Cure Bowl and be happy

Same here. I've been watching more lately and can finally understand about 50% of the whistles but still don't understand the other half :dontgetit

Lost 2 to 1 to ODU yesterday but have a chance to bounce back against them with another game at 2pm today. Too far to drive but will try to catch the home game next Saturday!

Bounced back to beat ODU 4-2. Went ahead 2-0 early in the game. Player said Friday's game was a lot nastier with many cards. I think this game only had 1 card.

Stick work really impressive at times. Beginning to like this game more and more.

Still in top 10. Currently 6th. Great to see Liberty remain up there with the likes of UNC, Northwestern, Michigan.

Face Temple tomorrow. They are 5-7 but many of their losses were very close. Hope Liberty gets up on them early like they did the last game vs ODU

After being upset by ODU in the Big East semis, our field hockey team did not get one of the three at-large bids available.

#4 in the nation doesn’t deserve an at- large? That’s seems strange

Our ladies just beat St. Josephs 2-0 to advance to the Elite 8 against #1 Rutgers. Lest anyone think we will be outmatched, the St. Josephs team we just defeated beat Rutgers earlier this season, and our conference rival UConn took them to 2 OTs before losing. Win this one and I don't think it's at all premature to talk about a possible Natty.

Has a liberty team ever won a D1 natty before?

We have 2 individual NC's, but not a team NC. Great job ladies.

More than that flameshaw. Sam Chelanga alone has won 4, with Josh McDougal and Heather Zealand winning one each.
