That's how the USGA rolls for every Open. Frankly the over-the-top setup tends to make this major such a wildcard to predict.

But even they admitted they went too far.

Scores at US Open should not be same as weekend golf ears at London Downs.

I don’t mind the speed of the greens, but I hate the pin placements. Several on the side of the hill. Just bizarre golf.

Also, I have no problem with what Lefty did on 13 Saturday. He chose that strategy and accepted the penalty (at least that’s how he explained it two hours later, haha!).

I once shot 37 on back nine at London Downs.

Does anyone know what his earnings were?

They haven't posted them yet. But T-56 at a major is pretty impressive. Among the guys who finished behind him by world rankings were:

And perhaps more importantly, I suspect he also won some sponsorship deals in the process.

I imagine that this will also get him some invites to some pga tournaments (skipping Monday qualifing).

Since the pga is now issuing tour cards via the web.com tour vs. qualifying school, I would imagine getting on that tour would be his next step if he wants to go that route vs. being a club pro.

Be nice if the fourm would interview him to see what his next steps are.
