So last night after beating Georgia State in MBB in such dramatic fashion, it got me thinking about LU vs SunBelt, specifically since they "snubbed" (Did us a favor) us by choosing CCU as their next member.

So i only went back to like 2014 because I was curious about our record since right around the sun belt realignment talk and only included the big 3 and WBB. If anyone wants to look into the other olympic sports be my guest but looking at recent track record vs the Sun Belt, we practically own them. Obviously, we play a lot of GA State and App in our recent match ups, in fact they are the only ones i saw. Feel free to add to this discussion if i missed any and any other sports.

Softball lost to Texas State at Auburn tournament last season. lost 3-1 and 3-2. (should have won both)

I am not statistician but I am fairly confident Bell Curve was misused above. Regardless, I want to beat the Sun Belt sometimes more than the Big South.

Coach Shellenberger let me know we have a bunch of wins over Georgia Southern in the pool as well (CCSA competitors, yes but that ought to amount to something since theyre Sun Belt)

Loss vs Louisiana BUT got that Bowl W!

1-0 in postseason against the belt!

Winning bowl game opens door for us to get invitation to join a conference. (sooner than the pundits may think )

I have zero desire to go to the Sunbelt at this point.

Me neither. Sunbelt isn't in the picture.

At this point, we don't have any reason to join the Sunbelt. We have bowl tie-ins, both the Sunbelt and ASun are one bid leagues in men's and women's bball, as well as nearly every other sport.

If we joined Sunbelt, it would almost be taking a step backward.
