I didn't realize this was our 4th outta the last 6. Pretty impressive considering we really don't have a home course

Liberty Captures 4th Big South Men's Golf Title in 6 Years

April 19, 2016
Ninety Six, S.C.

No. 3 seed Liberty weathered charges from both Campbell and Charleston Southern on Tuesday, but was able to fend them off and capture the title at the 2016 Big South Men's Golf Championship.

The title is Liberty's fourth in six seasons, as the Flames also captured Big South Men's Golf Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2014. All four titles have come at The Patriot Golf Club (par 72, 7,120 yards), the site of the championship the last nine years.

Perhaps the one sport where we actually are at a disadvantage from a facilities standpoint. Several other BSC teams have great home courses and access to many more. Very impressive job by coach Thomas, and great to see a Liberty grad and former athlete leading one of our most successful programs

Liberty is really making The Patriot Club feel like a home course after another dominating win. I think it would be awesome if we could acquire a large enough tract of land (or two) and build a course. It could be open to the public during the week and we host maybe 4-6 collegiate tournaments a year for ourselves as well as other colleges hosting tournaments there, and then we could host some local and state tournaments as well (high school and otherwise).

Schools from NOVA would be fearful as they are in their refusing to participate in the state debate championships held here. 5 HSs who are not sending their debate teams because of all the hate and Islamaphobia at LU :) There's NOVA and then there's the "real" Virginia.
