Rock Hill, S.C.
After Sunday's matchup versus Winthrop was suspended due to inclement weather, the Liberty women's lacrosse team returned to Eagle Field on Tuesday for another opportunity at a share of the Big South regular-season title. Unfortunately, the Lady Flames were unable to capitalize on the second chance, as the Eagles recorded nine unanswered goals between the first and second periods en route to a 17-6 decision.
With the defeat, Liberty suffers its first Big South defeat of the season, falling to 7-9 overall and 5-1 in conference play. Winthrop, the country's No. 1 scoring offense, moves to 14-2 on the year and 6-0 in the Big South. The Eagles now lay claim to at least a share of the regular-season conference title.
