Tennis doubleheaders this weekend

Both teams had tough matches the last time, with the men falling to national title contender #3 VA and the Lady Flames getting edged in Florida by FAU 4-3. This weekend they have a great chance to go 4-0, with the men taking on King College and Bluefield State tomorrow, the women take on Charlotte and Villanova on Saturday.

Also this weekend, on the other side of the world, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams battled for the Australian Open women's title, and the men's is Andy Murray v. either Djokovic or Wawrinka. I may have to hop on a Qantas A380, catch a connection in Sydney and go to Melbourne.

And another quick note, Diego Castano has been named Freshman of the Week for men's tennis:

Men take down Bluefield 6-1.

Currently, the ladies are playing Charlotte and need one of two doubles matches still in play to secure the doubles point. They will take on Villanova later today.

Took a gutsy performance by Nicola Wellman to pull the match out at number 6, but she got the job done and Lady Flams win 4-3 over Charlotte.
