Ironically, I bet the Big South won't allow the softball championship to be held at LU.

They should be held at LU...............same goes for every other BSC sport.

Does any Guru know when the 2015 schedule will be released ?

The Big South has a strong ABL* stance on championships.

I think the last time Liberty hosted a championship that wasn't women's basketball was track and field last year or two years ago, then I think before that was cross country

Liberty isn't exactly the center of the Big South geographically speaking. I get why you guys are butt hurt about it, but its not that serious.

If that were the reasoning, maybe I could understand it. But it's not.

Let's hear the reasoning

No matter where they have BSC tournament, they should use good facilities. In the past, they have not always done this.
If they would have everything at LU, it might force other schools to upgrade their facilities.

As previously stated, simply ABL.

Agreed to the first.

As to the second, that is the fear of presidents and administrators around the league. They all know they can't keep up.

JK is right. there really isn't anyone else in the Big South who can keep up with LU in a facilities arms race. Coastal maybe comes the closest and they still have I think half as much as far as the "big 3" sports facilites are concerned

Beej - Coastal is pretty on par with us in the big three. They're smaller, but they are really nice.

I'll agree on the niceness factor Jon...im saying that if they want to go bigger, they may be the only ones in the whole conference who could (the HTC Center is new though so I doubt they change there this soon)

Bigger isn't always better. Example: Vines. We'd be much better off with a 4000-5000 seat arena for basketball.

Nothing wrong with the Vines Center, it used to be filled quite regularly. The problem is the product. Hopefully that will change soon.

THIS^^^^
It also isn't all about the product. While I'm not sure we could fill Randolph's Gym (and a couple of years ago we didn't) but we could have a better atmosphere consistently with a 4k-5k arena.
As for hosting tournament hosting, objectively it's difficult to beat Myrtle Beach. Coastal has solid facilities as well. I'm not sure why HPU gets tournaments other than being in Greensboro Area.
We have great facilities but all things being equal, you can't beat the beach for fans.

... because so many fans travel to tournaments outside of men's hoops.

Honestly I believe the fact that we have been so open about our FBS overtures was the last straw for the league office who never wanted to throw any bones our way. That baseball tourney may be the last of anything ever awarded to us. Chuck South will be hosting something before us.

If no one comes, than why not just have it in Charlotte. Direct flights for everyone.
People come to tournaments. Some more than others. But the fact remains, if you were a fan with no LU allegiance would you rather go to Myrtle Beach, Greensboro or Lynchburg?

I believe this is simply paranoia from liberty sports fans. The whole world isn't against us.

Neevr said the world. But when places like HPU and UNCA get tournaments with lesser bids than what Liberty submitted, it's obvious there is a desire by many administrators around the conference to not allow Liberty to have everything.

I think if we agree no one attends tournaments outside of MBB and BB (and maybe w don't agree), then the best facility is the obvious choice to host. For example, I have no issue with CCU hosting softball this past year.

I would take Asheville as a place to visit over Lynchburg.
When Radford starts beating us for tournaments.....

But if few fans attend anyway, then the surrounding area matters a lot less than the facility. The experience of the S-A should be paramount.

Which circles around to where the SA will have a better experience. The list is still the same.
