I do not believe Liberty has any team national championships in the NCAA era but we do have individual champions in Heather Zealand (Sagan), Josh McDougal and Sam Chelanga. Would have to do some digging to find the other 3

Those are the only 3 individuals. Heather Zealand (then Sagan) was our first, winning the indoor mile with a dramatic finishing kick. Then McDougal won his epic battle with Galen Rupp in CC. Sam Chelanga took over from there, and has won 4. 2 in cross country and 2 on the track. Yeah. The guy was good. Still is, and I think he will make some noise when he moves up to the marathon. He is still working on getting naturalized to compete for the US. If he does, he and Rupp will be the most formidible pair of US distance runners in a LONG time.
