Streaming Video, Live Stats Available for Liberty Home Volleyball Matches
Fans can follow the Lady Flames via television or the Internet.
September 20, 2006
Lynchburg, Va.
Liberty volleyball fans who are unable to make it to the Vines Center to watch the team play in person will be able to follow the Lady Flames on television and on the computer, beginning this Saturday.
As previously announced, the Flames Television Network (FTN) will broadcast eight of Liberty’s nine home matches this season. Only the Oct. 8 contest against Charleston Southern will not be televised.
For the second straight year, the FTN telecasts will be available over the Internet in the form of streaming video.
Fans can access the streaming video at
www.LibertyFlames.com by navigating to the volleyball “Schedule & Results” page and then clicking on “Video” on the season schedule.
For the first time, live stats will be available for all home volleyball matches. A “Live Stats” link for each match will be provided on the “Schedule & Results” page.
These features will all be available this Saturday for Liberty’s first home match of the season. The Lady Flames will host Radford at 2 p.m. in the Big South Conference opener for both teams.

Scar, do you know why they're not broadcasting the match against CSU?

Would the fact that it is on Sunday factor in?

Thank you Sly. I didn't know the answer to that question so I am glad you chimed in. We are only doing 11 of the 14 men's basketball home games because the other 3 are non division 1's and that is NOT good TV.

thats great that we can do that, but MAN- can we PLEASE work on getting FB streamed SOON?
or at least someone tell me how to get the Liberty Channel on DIRECTV without buying another dish and doing some cockamamie cross wiring. One of 2 things happens there- I get electrocuted and fall 30 feet off my roof to my death, or the FCC sends out a sniffer truck and they lock me up for 25 to life.

I think that with the new field house that the Football games will be videoed over the web just like they do for basketball. It had something to do with the equipment being at the Vines. It doesn't seem quit fair that Volleyball gets videoed but not football. That is probably in the works soon.

Stevev, Medic,
Volleyball and all other events get on TV because of the TV studio they built inside the Vines. It is a costly venture to televise anything outside of the Vines because you have to bring in mostly outside equipment (production truck and what have you). I think they are talking about running fiber optics from the Vines Studio out to that portion of campus to allow Soccer, Track and Football some long overdue air time. Another idea might be to run fiber from TRBC which may be a bit closer to the Stadium than Vines but I have not seen the studio in the church nor do I know if it is functional enough to do sports production. Medic you may be able to subscribe by going to the website for the Liberty Channel but I am not sure. I still don't get it because I have direct TV in Lynchburg and Comcast in Richmond.

Is anyone watching online right now? They also play on Sunday but it is not on TV. They are playing Coastal.

Nice to see them showing "real" commercials too. Go Jeff Barber (Another Tim Scarborough Idea 3 years ago

Monica Lacey is doing a great job on the color commentary as well. She is the Women's Basketball admin. I better be careful or she might take my job.

So far I only saw one "commercial" for Taco Bell. 'We need more Bell'. We need to maximize that TV ad revenue esp since we are on the WWW. Also our main site should have this telecast on the front page to remind us when it is on the day of a game.

SJ are you there?
It looks like it is 2-0 not 1-1.

I realized it right after I posted it.
No, I'm sitting in my apartment watching it on tv. I had no clue we were playing today.

This commercial about Liberty is completely boring. I would not want to come here after that.

Yes the commercial needs to be re-shot with more recent stuff. They had the LaHaye ice but they need to have new hoops stuff and football highlights. Plus the old fashioned way of production doesn't appeal to the SJ's of this world....I like the way the new design on the court looks on TV.

I am watching the video for the volleyball game and it is very clear. Great job. The team on the other hand looks pretty bad. This is not the LU volleyball team from year's past. Not even close.

For those of us who are not in Lynchburg today, there's a Volleyball game tonight on FTN. I will be watching via the webcast. See my signature for the website.
