Redshirt freshman Caroline Douglas was named VaSID Volleyball Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, while head coach Shane Pinder was named VaSID State Coach of the Year for the second year in a row and a record fourth time in his career.

Im working on archiving some old volleyball tapes and going through the year by year, its amazing how Coach Pinder had a tough go of things his first few years and I think there were some on here (actually on the old Firehouse Forums now that I think about it) who were wondering if he was the person for the job, and now we have had six straight 20+ win seasons. won four of six tournament titles and won or shared the last four regular season titles as well. Real turnaround after some early struggles

I remember when I got the public endorsement from Jerry Falwell for Coach Pinder. He did not have an easy go of it his first few seasons.
