Former Flames golfer Jordan Mitchell qualified for this weekend's PGA Tour event, The McGladrey Classic. He was able to win the Monday qualifier in a playoff after shooting a 6 under round of 66. The McGladrey Classic is hosted by Davis Love III and will be played October 18-21 at the Seaside Course at Sea Island, Georgia.
I'm relaying info my brother got from speaking to Jordan yesterday after seeing it on Facebook. I tried to find more info online, but I didn't have any luck.

According to my brother, Jordan is playing some amazing golf right now. He just missed the playoff at the qualifier for the Wyndham Championships in Greensboro back in August when he shot a 5 under 67. This was after shooting a 9 under 63 to win the pre-qualifier.

Just set a reminder for the opening 2 rounds. Hopefully he gets some TV time and plays well.

Bogied his first hole (10), but he's on the course during today's TV coverage so there's a chance he actually gets some TV time.
Birdie on his 5th (14) to get back to even.
Birdie on his 7th (16) to go -1.
He's gone bogey, birdie, bogey, bogey, birdie, birdie to get back to -1 through 15.
Throw in another bogey-birdie and he ends up -1, tied for 65th after day 1. Not a bad showing at all.

Jordan finished the first day at -1 in a tie for 65th with 20+ people . The leader is at -8. Great start for his first PGA event. He probably needs to shoot a few shots lower tomorrow to make the cut and secure a spot for the weekend.
EDIT - I missed NAJ's post earlier. I forgot to refresh the page.

He has a 9:15 tee time today and will play the front nine first. He started on hole 10 yesterday.

Double bogey on 5, birdie on 6, bogey on 12, and birdie on 13. +1 for the day and E for the tournament with 5 holes to go. Tied for 86th. A couple of birdies would give him a good chance of making the cut. Either way, pretty good showing for his first PGA event.

Miss the cut = Great experience playing a PGA Tour event
Make the cut = Great experience playing a PGA Tour event + a CHECK!

Currently the projected cut is -1. Jordan has 3 holes left and is still E. 1 birdie in the final 3 should do it, 2 would make it a definite.

He's 17 feet away from the pin on the 17th hole with a long putt for birdie. He needs to get this one. You can follow along via ShotTracker by clicking the link below:

Par on 17. Absolutely must birdie 18 which is a very long par 4 at 470 yards.

He ended up at even par. Excellent showing for his first PGA event. Hopefully he can keep playing well and qualify for a few more tournaments next year.

That's a heck of a good showing for a first PGA Tour event. Now I'm rooting for people to pop a bunch of 7s, 8s, and 9s to move the cut to E.

It's going to take a bunch of big numbers to move it.
