I would like to run an idea by one and all and see what your thoughts where. I know Virginia has a lot of lakes and rivers. Has anyone at Liberty thought of having a Bass fishing team? It could help bring more students to Liberty. I know Gardner-Webb has a bass fishing team as well as Georgia Southern. I think it would be an awesome addition. Also, I know they use to have bull riding events in Boonesboro and I know a guy who rode there while attending LU. It would also be a great addition to Liberty and there are quite a few christian bull riders currently in the PBR and CBR. I would definitely go and watch these events, students in the past always packed the house on Friday nights during Bull Bucking in Boonesboro.

we actually had one as a club sport a few years ago. I think it was quietly cut though. As for rodeo, that would be an interesting one, especially with the new equestrian center. your best bet is to email clubsports (at) liberty.edu and submit those for consideration

I'm not trying to say that we shouldn't consider fishing and bull riding but rugby would bring a lot more value to our club sport program. Rugby athletes have the opportunity to compete on a national scale that is already in place and now represent the United States in the olympics (it will be added in Rio). We have a regional rivals to complete against and it is a great sport to watch. Also the cost associated with rugby, compared to other sports is very minimal.

from what i heard rugby is officially going to be a club sport in 2013, next year. that was the plan i don't if it changed or not. another one i heard was that boxing was close to becoming a club sport as well but idk about that one. as for the other two sports if there is enough interest it can be added to club sports. if we are talking ncaa, i hope gymnastics, sand volleyball, or hockey get added.

Hockey is club, not varsity. Unless you mean field hockey.
